As summer winds down, Edmonton gathers by the water to soak up the last of the season with two days of live music, dancing, and community. Down by the River is a unique open-air festival set in the beautiful Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, offering stunning views, lush greenery, and a carefully curated lineup of artists from across Canada and beyond.

Produced by The Factory Music & Arts, this all-ages celebration blends indie, folk, rock, and alternative sounds in a relaxed riverside setting. Bring a blanket, bring your friends, and enjoy a weekend of music in the heart of the city.

TICKET INFORMATION

  • General Admission tickets are available for single days or the full weekend.

  • Children 12 and under get in free with a ticket-holding adult.

  • All ticket sales are final.

  • Lineup, set times, and event hours are subject to change.

  • All attendees agree to our Safe Spaces Policy

  • Media may be captured onsite for promotional use, including social media, online content, and future event marketing.

General Information

Is the festival rain or shine?
Yes! The festival will go on rain or shine — come prepared for all weather.

Is it family-friendly?
Yes! The main event is family-friendly, and kids 12 and under get in free. Please note that both after-parties are 18+.

What are the set times?
Doors open at 1:00 PM each day. The full festival schedule will be released soon – stay tuned!

Entry & Security

What are you doing to ensure my safety at the festival?

What items are prohibited?
The following items are NOT allowed inside the venue:

  • Air Horns

  • Animals / Pets (except service animals)

  • Body Armor

  • Chains / Chain Wallets

  • Coolers

  • Drones or RC aircraft, cars, toys

  • Fireworks, explosives, road flares

  • Flyers, samples, giveaways, promotional items

  • Glass bottles or containers

  • Illegal drugs or paraphernalia

  • Laser pointers

  • Outside beverages *water bottles allowed!

  • Tarps

  • Wagons

  • Weapons of any kind (guns, knives, ammo, mace, etc.)

What items are allowed?

You CAN bring the following items:

  • Bags/backpacks (18" x 13" x 8.5" or smaller)

  • Blankets/towels (50" x 70" or smaller)

  • Cameras (non-pro digital, disposable, Polaroid, film)

  • Ear plugs, chapstick, face paint, makeup, hats, sunglasses

  • Dancing shoes, hand sanitizer, mobile chargers

  • Handheld fans (battery-operated or folding)

  • Parasols

  • Prescription medication (must match ID)

  • Service animals

  • Strollers (for babies/toddlers only)

  • Sunblock/sunscreen (non-aerosol)

  • Reusable water bottles (must be empty, plastic only, 64oz or less)

  • Water misters (plastic, personal-size only, empty)

  • GoPros (no poles or extenders)

  • Inhalers, lighters, gum/mints (sealed)

Can I bring lawn chairs?
Yes, lawn chairs are welcome, but please keep them lightweight, low-profile, and easy to carry. Oversized, bulky, or potentially unsafe seating (e.g., reclining loungers, sharp-edged chairs, or anything that blocks views and walkways) will not be permitted.  

Food & Beverage

Will there be food on site?
Yes! We’ll have a food truck available throughout the festival.

Will there be a bar?
Yes! Alcohol will be available for purchase on site to those 18+ with valid ID.

Can I bring a reusable water bottle?
Absolutely — and we encourage it! Just make sure it’s empty upon arrival. Free refill stations will be available throughout the festival grounds.
